Exercise duty

“In line with exercise duty Act of 2015, one cargo of diesel has been increased by Sh2.061 a litre. The other diesel cargoes considered in this price review remain unaffected since their dates of discharge were before the effective date of the new exercise tax Dec 1, 2015,” ERC said in its latest fuel price update.

Most consumer goods are transported with diesel powered engines meaning there will be minimal, if any upward pressure on prices arising from diesel prices.

The prices are effective from December 15, 2015.

Crude oil prices continued to trend lower as key producers like Saudi Arabia refused to cut production, opting to maintain their market share.
