The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has recommended the prosecution of four persons including former IEBC chief executive James Oswago for their roles in the chickengate bribery scandal.

In a recommendation sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, EACC wants Mr Oswago, Trevy James Oyombra, Kenneth Karani and Hamida Ali Kibwana for taking part in the scheme where bribes totalling Sh52 million code-named ‘chicken’ were dished out to electoral and examination officials.

“EACC has found evidence of criminal culpability on the part of and recommended criminal charges,” DPP Keriako Tobiko said in a statement.

"On the other hand EACC has found no evidence of criminal culpability on the part of any other official of the then Interim Independent Electoral Commission," said the agency, absolving the chairman Issack Hassan.
