Banks hire more managers, reduce low-cadre positions

Banks shed 567 clerical and support staff last year when it hired more managers in the wake of increased investments on digital channels that eliminated the need for basic jobs.

Central Bank of Kenya annual report showed that the number of clerical staff declined 3.7 per cent to 11,965 in 2019 while support staff number was down 4.6 percent to 2,073.
