Real estate firm Cytonn Investments has inked a partnership deal with University of Eldoret to offer internship opportunities to students interested in finance.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the students will be enrolled into the Cytonn Young Leadership Programme (CYLP) for mentorship and training in investments, real estate, human resource, marketing, finance, operations, ICT and legal services among others.

Cytonn Human Resource Assistant Manager Anne Wanjiru said practical training for the students will help fill an existing gap for corporate companies looking to hire graduate trainees with the right work ethic and training.

University of Eldoret director for Industrial Linkages Professor Violet Mugalavai welcomed the initiative saying it was an avenue to prepare students for the job market.

CYLP, run under the Cytonn Foundation’s training and mentorship pillar has since benefited 500 students from various universities across the country where Cytonn absorbed 150 students.

To qualify for the internship, a student ought to have scored at least B+ or above in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCE), graduated or will graduate with at least a Second Class (Upper Division) from a recognised university.

Cytonn currently manages investments and projects worth Sh82 billion, mainly in commercial and residential properties.
