A fourth suspect who was arrested in Mtwapa in connection with the break-in at KCB #ticker:KCB Thika where more than Sh50 million was stolen was Wednesday charged with stealing from the bank.
Shem Karani Kirimi, 26, was charged at Thika magistrate’s court that on diverse dates between November 18 and November 20 at unknown time, in Thika town, jointly with others entered the KCB Thika branch through an underground tunnel and stole Sh52,650,000.95.
He was also charged with stealing Australian dollars, 185 Euros, 1,630 pounds, 271,000 Tanzanian shillings, 947,000 Ugandan shillings, 5,781 US dollars, 40 South African Rand and five Canadian dollars belonging to the bank.
He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Teresa Murigi.
