The Kenya Bankers Association’s (KBA) online chat session, "My Chat with a Bank CEO", has become an instant hit with more than 100,000 followers.

About 700 members of the banking public have also registered to chat directly with chief executives of various banks who host the quarterly chat sessions.

Making up the CEO Chat line-up for this quarter are Family Bank CEO Peter Munyiri, National Bank of Kenya CEO Munir Ahmed, Fina Bank Managing Director Bhaska Ghose and Equity Bank CEO James Mwangi.

Mr Munyiri will kick off the session on January 16 at 10am on the topic "The Agency Banking Model." Mr Ahmed will discuss "The Interest Rate Environment" on January 23, also at 10am.

The complete schedule is available on the KBA website, www.kba.co.ke, where the chat sessions are hosted.

KBA Chief Executive Officer, Habil Olaka, says so far 10 CEOs have hosted sessions, covering topics in Capital Markets, Financial Inclusion, Islamic Banking, Mortgages, Real Estate Investments and Career Advise.

“The CEO chats have become quite popular, reaching a wide audience each quarter,” said Mr Olaka.

“During the last event, KBA secured one of the top spots on the Google search engine, beating more than 60 million sites on the key word ‘CEO’. This is a great achievement made in less than six months," he added.
