Siginon Aviation appoints South African GM

Siginon Aviation has appointed South African national Maarten Klinjstra as the new general manager.

Mr Klinjstra joins Siginon Group from Martinair Cargo where he was the regional director, cargosales.

He will oversee the general management of all Siginon Aviation operations at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Eldoret International Airport in Kenya.

As a seasoned aviation and air cargo industry professional with diverse experience in international stations notably Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa and Lagos, Nigeria, he has also provided regional oversight in strategic African markets such as DR Congo, Zambia, Ethiopia and Nigeria. 

“We’re very confident that Maarten’s capabilities to position Siginon Aviation as the market leader in quality ground and cargo handling services in Kenya as well as establish strong partnerships with airlines, the shippers and regulators against a background of cooperation, compliance and service delivery,” said Siginon Group managing director Meshack Kipturgo.
