The managements of public universities yesterday issued a notice of withdrawal of the contentious return-to-work formula they signed with lecturers before retracting it in less than one hour.
The secretary of the Inter-Public Universities Councils’ Consultative Forum (IPUCCF), Prof Daniel Mugendi, signed the notice. He accused the Universities Academic Staff Union (Uasu) of a breach of the agreement by refusing to resume duties in the notice. Uasu maintains that it is the employers that have not kept their part of the bargain.
