Equity Afia, the medical franchise of Equity Group Foundation (EGF), has added six new health centres in Nairobi, Kirinyaga and Laikipia counties, expanding its network to 53.

The facilities have been opened in Ruai, Kariobangi, Lavington and Umoja in Nairobi, Kerugoya in Kirinyaga and Nanyuki, Laikipia.

Equity Afia, which launched in 2015, now has a footprint in 19 counties.

“Our medical facilities are comprehensive outpatient healthcare facilities that will offer primary, emergency and specialised care to those we serve. We shall also champion health education through our entire network and leverage the expertise of our medics to promote positive health-seeking behaviour,” said Equity Group #ticker:EQTY Chief Commercial Officer, Polycarp Igathe.

The health facilities are managed by graduates of the Equity Leaders Program — the bank’s led scholarship and internship initiative — who pursued medical courses and practised medicine.
