Judicial academy launches therapeutic jurisprudence curriculum

In efforts to foster a compassionate and enlightened legal system, a trauma-informed programme has been launched to help by instilling legal professionals with a profound understanding of the deep interplay between law, mental health, and trauma.

The programme dubbed National Therapeutic Jurisprudence and Trauma-Informed Training program by Crevit Mulier and Co, in partnership with the Kenya Judiciary Academy, is the first of its kind in the country.

At the same time, an innovative e-learning platform has been launched, designed to empower the Kenya Judiciary Academy with accessible and cutting-edge educational resources.

This digital oasis of wisdom will empower judiciary officials at all stages of their careers, with a cornucopia of resources and courses designed to deepen their understanding of therapeutic jurisprudence and trauma-informed practices.

The launch saw legal luminaries, esteemed scholars, and justice advocates converge. Accomplished think tanks and project managers from both Kenya Judiciary Academy and Crevit Mulier & Co share a deep understanding of the myriad ways in which trauma shapes individuals’ experiences within the legal system.

The training curriculum design program entails multiple weeks of intensive instruction, and presented a variety of knowledge and insights.
