First ship docks at new Sh32bn port terminal

The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has officially operationalised the Sh32 billion Container Terminal 2 with a first ship docking with 2,704 twenty-foot-equivalent units (TEUS) on Tuesday.

The vessel, CMA CMG Mv Jamaica docked at the newly constructed berth 22 at Port of Mombasa as KPA begins a trial run of the facility after it was handed over last week by Japanese contractor, Toyo Construction.
