Phone, data costs limit Kenyans from full digital participation

The cost of internet-enabled phones remains a major barrier for Kenyans who know about mobile internet but are not using it, while the price of data is limiting how much existing users go online.
A new study by the mobile industry lobby group GSMA and the Partnership for Digital Access in Africa (PDAA) shows that among Kenya’s adult urban population, 68 percent use mobile internet, while 27 percent are aware of it but do not use it and six percent remain unaware.
