Construction boom extends Nigeria’s run as Kenya’s chief sisal importer

Nigeria is still the biggest buyer of Kenyan sisal, fuelled by a construction boom in West Africa.

The latest update by the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) shows that in the quarter to September 2025, local producers earned Sh1.24 billion from exporting 6,053.50 tonnes of the fibre.
