Kenyan businesses have warned accumulating State arrears to contractors and suppliers will weaken corporate recovery plans from Covid-19 economic fallout, slowing return to profitability and replacement of lost jobs.

The Kenya Private Sector Alliance (Kepsa), the umbrella body for businesses, has flagged pending bills by State entities at national and county level, which topped Sh448.05 billion, as a damper to businesses recovery strategies.
