The accommodation and food service sector in Kenya recorded a growth of 17.7 percent in the quarter to September 2025, a surge largely driven by the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament that the country co-hosted with Uganda and Tanzania.

The three East African nations co-hosted the eighth edition of CHAN 2024, between August 2-30, 2025.
