The Treasury faces pressure to raise at least an extra Sh1.07 billion annually to finance a new salary deal for Cabinet secretaries, governors, MPs, MCAs and other top State officers that falls due this month, computations show, amid financial strain.
A new schedule of salaries and benefits for State officers fell due on July 1 in line with an August 9,2023 gazette notice by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
