Kenya is laying the groundwork for a $100 million (about Sh12.93 billion) innovation fund that will channel resources into commercialising ideas from universities, technical and vocational education and training colleges, and laboratories.

The Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) says the fund, being structured in partnership with universities and companies, will provide a steady pipeline of financing for researchers, students and startups to convert their ideas into viable enterprises.
