The Public Service Commission (PSC) has cut the number of university graduates recruited under the government’s internship programme by nearly half, citing limited fiscal capacity.

Data contained in the PSC’s latest annual report for the year ended June 2025 shows that 4,411 interns were recruited in March last year, marking a 49 percent decline from the 8,650 interns recruited in the prior year.
