Teachers up in arms over new pension plan

Teachers have rejected plans to deduct 7.5 per cent of their salaries for a contributory pension scheme starting this month saying they have not been consulted.

Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) Secretary General Wilson Sossion said while the teachers agree that the Pension Act has been in place since 2012, they are unaware of the existence of the benefits of the scheme.
