Travellers to Kenya set for Sh6.4 million medical cover

Foreigners staying in Kenya for up to a year will get a minimum medical cover of $50,000 (Sh6.44 million) under the mandatory insurance for travellers.

The cover will comprise $25,000 (Sh3.2 million) for emergency medical transport, $20,000 (Sh2.58 million) for medical expenses, $15,000 (Sh1.9 million) for repatriation of a body, $1,000 (Sh129,000) for mental illness and $300 (Sh38,700) for prescribed medication.
