The church got a beating this past fortnight at two Nairobi performance centres where theatre groups revealed uncomfortable truths about both the Catholic and Protestant clerics.

Playwright and actor Adeti Mahgga was harder on the Catholics in ‘Architect’ than Crony Players were on the Protestants in ‘Who was Here’. But Crony revealed monetized religion in the form of Pastor Ambrose (Bilal Wanjau) who came to see Victor and Felicia to ask them to take two soon-to-be-wed fiances and mentor them in the ways of perfect wedlock such as he assumed they enjoyed.
