The second wave of Covid-19 infections, seem to be finally with us, after a relatively calm period. It also portends a dangerous year end. Rising cases from tested samples, hovering at 10-15 percent, suggest widespread community infections. What is more concerning, however, is the increasing case fatalities, more so among medical personnel.
Two emerging issues are our low testing rates, and identification of those infected to curtail transmission. While scientists rush towards a vaccine, the reality is that this is a bit uncertain when the timelines will be delivered.
