Koome Mwambia will take an early exit as Ogilvy Kenya chief executive after a mutual decision with the company board, board chairman Bharat Thakrar has announced.
Ogilvy Kenya announced that it has accepted Koome Mwambia’s decision to take an early exit as CEO and director of the company A statement issued by Mr Thakrar, indicated that the decision had been arrived at mutually, after various discussions between the parties.
‘The Board acknowledges and is grateful to Mr Mwambia’s contribution to the business, mostly for his unique entrepreneurial skills and an engaging personality that has particularly played an important role in helping transition the Ogilvy Kenya business during, and post the joint venture consummated between Scangroup and Ogilvy Kenya towards the end of 2010’, He said.
Mr Mwambia remains one of the top 10 shareholders in Scangroup, which bought half of Ogilvy East Africa in 2010. Mr Mwambia, who had a 22 per cent of Ogilvy East Africa shareholding prior to the sale, acquired a stake in ScanGroup following the cash and share transaction worth Sh234 million.
