Johannesburg-based real estate firm Paragon Group is introducing new architectural software solutions in Kenya to help developers and owners view concepts via virtual reality.
Group director Anthony Orelowitz said its eyeing more investments and construction opportunities in Kenya.
Developers and clients will be able to market products using the Rhino and Grasshopper 3D-generated prototypes through augmented and virtual realities, which allows home-buyers to experience the actual spaces before they are built.
“We are using a lot of 3D printing to make components that we cannot manufacture using traditional methods where the internal form-making is cutting-edge on a global level,” said Mr Orelowitz.
He said the latest undertaking, a 23-floor high-end residential development in Nairobi’s Kilimani dubbed The Habitat—that will boast a rooftop pool—is on schedule for completion in mid-2020. The property, jointly designed by Paragon and Nairobi-based architectural and interior design firm Design Source, will have 60 apartments and is being developed by Ekco Investments.
The group is also on schedule to complete the 24,000 square metre Crystal Rivers Mall owned by Safaricom Pension built at a cost of Sh7.5 billion. It is located on Mombasa Road in Mavoko and will comprise 398 housing units, a mall with Naivas as the anchor tenant and Nairobi Hospital among other global and national brands.
Paragon Group’s other ongoing projects in Africa include Swaziland’s 160-room Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, and the Pullman Airport City Hotel and Apartment project in Ghana.
