Simba has reached an agreement with Essel Group of India to provide technical, marketing and financial resources needed to develop its Block 2A located in the Mandera basin.

“Simba has successfully obtained production sharing contracts in three countries in Africa and is now ready to proceed to the next level in the development of its portfolio of exploration assets. W are delighted to enter into this agreement with the Essel Group which will provide Simba with strong financial, technical, and marketing support to advance development of our properties,” Simba chief executive Robert Dinning said.

Simba raised Sh32.5 million in February to fund work on its fully-owned Block 2A located in Mandera.

The explorer’s other assets are in Chad and Guinea. Erin Energy has asked the Energy ministry for more time before it moves to the next step of exploration on its blocks also located in Mandera.

“The company has completed preliminary interpretation of the seismic data acquired on Blocks L1B and L16 and has identified several promising leads,” said Simba Energy in a statement.
