For the rest of our lives, we shall remember the coronavirus epidemic as the era of masks. Yet in the strangest of ironies, it has actually stripped away the masks of many, making the mean meaner, the kind kinder, and exposing the reality of our own lives. And that has moved the dial on the decisions we make.
