Electricity bill has various charges. While these charges will vary depending on whether the bill belongs to a residential, industrial or commercial customer, the fixed and volumetric charges will always be present.
Fixed charges do not change with electricity use and cover the utility’s (in Kenya’s case, Kenya Power’s) fixed costs whereas volumetric charges change with consumption.
