There are very few parkside apartments in the world, and even fewer in Kenya. Finding one in urban Nairobi, next to a sanctuary three times larger than Uhuru Park, that’s a very rare gem.

Unity Parkside, the sixth undertaking from Kenyan developer Unity Homes, breaks ground tomorrow in Tatu City. Apartment prices start at Ksh10.6 million.

The two- and three-bedroom development has already attracted a lot of attention from investors and homebuyers looking to capitalise on its affordable price and desirable location.

Uniquely situated next to a 100-acre sanctuary, Unity Parkside benefits from its front-row access to nature as well as its position within the master-planned smart city located just 30 minutes from the Nairobi CBD.

Unity Homes director John Latham says he’s not surprised about the early rush for the apartments.

“When we talk about real estate, we talk about location, location, location. If you look at properties next to parks in all the major cities in the world, the value of those properties is often two or three times the properties which are just a few rows away.”

Comprising 338 residences, Unity Parkside is the company’s greenest development. Ample green spaces are integrated into the development, says its architect Sharon Abungu. “Our vision from day one was to create a residential community that is deeply connected to nature.”

It’s a simple concept but one that is increasingly difficult to find among the cities’ new-generation highrises.

What’s gained in access to nature, is not lost on modern comforts. The development boasts an outdoor pool, modern leisure centre and an on-site restaurant.

Inside the apartments, an open-plan design prioritises natural light and comfort, with the benefit of fine finishing and built-in European appliances.

To mark the launch of the development, Unity Homes is offering a discount of up to Ksh1.7 million until September 7, for enterprising investors ready to snap up the first release units.

Completion of the first phase of Unity Parkside is expected in Q2, 2027.
