The Technical University of Mombasa is set for a Sh500 million expansion that will involve the building of a school of medicine and hostels.

The university received the grant from the government to undertake the projects whose construction has commenced.

Acting vice chancellor Laila Abubakar said the projects, which are being implemented at the main campus in Tudor and Kwale, would see the university start offering health science programmes.

“The university has set aside Sh214 million for the School of Medicine.

“The School of Medicine will offer health science programmes. It will be the first ever in this region. We hope to roll out end of next year,” said Prof Abubakar.
