Kenyan audit firm Alekim partners with UK-based tax outfit

Nairobi-based firm Alekim Associates has partnered with and received accreditation from global accounting network MGI Worldwide, a move it says will propel it to the league of premier accounting firms in Kenya.

Alekim Associates reckons it can now be considered as an alternative to KPMG, Ernst and Young (E&Y Kenya), PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Deloitte & Touche, and PKF East Africa.

Headquartered in the United Kingdom, MGI Worldwide is a global accounting network of independent audit, tax advisory, Certified Public Accountants and accounting firms.

Alekim partner Felix Kimoli said the deal assures the firm’s clients of quality services.

“It is a way of assuring to our clients that for us to have been admitted into this association it implies that our processes have been tested and the people who are supposed to make sure that we are on the right track have checked and confirmed that we are doing well.

“What this means to our clients is that those clients who have jobs and works to be done outside the country we can be able to link them with our partners and associates in those other countries,” he said.

MGI Worldwide representative Jonathan Farrow said Alekim Associates would now have access to expertise from around the globe and this would instil confidence among clients and entire markets.

It has a presence in more than 80 countries with about 5,000 professionals.

According to the association, member firms are subject to regular quality review to make sure that they operate to the highest international quality standards.
