Ms Ngahu, who is currently the board chair of troubled retailer Uchumi, is one of few women in Kenya at the helm of boards of NSE-listed firms.
Catherine Ngahu has quit the board of troubled Eveready East Africa #ticker:EVRD after serving for over six years.
In a notice issued Friday, the battery distributor said her resignation is effective September 13.
“Ms Ngahu informed the board that her decision was due to her current responsibilities, which have made it increasingly difficult for her to find time to attend the board,” said Jackson Mutua, Eveready managing director.
Susan Mudhune also quit as a non-executive director of the firm early last year.

Other listed companies with women chairs include Eveready's Lucy Waithaka, Standard Chartered’s Anne Mutahi, Isabella Ocholla-Wilson of Unga Limited and Susan Mboya-Kidero of Liberty Kenya Holdings’.
