A standard gauge railway concrete engineer Enock Ogega, 30, has won a Sh20 million Betin jackpot, barely a week after the second jackpot winner was announced by the same firm.

Mr Ogega, newly married, joins the growing club of Kenyan betting millionaires having placed a bet of Sh99 during his night shift at work last week.

He said he has been betting on the Betin platform since June 2016 and still plans to continue playing.

“There have been many losses and a few wins. This mega win goes to show if you keep on trying one day, you will make it,” he said.

“I intend to grow my small construction company, which I started last year and invest in real estate with the money. I will not stop betting.”

Mr Ogega was speaking while receiving a dummy cheque at Betin offices on Mama Ngina Street in Nairobi’s central business district on Monday.
The avid football fan and supporter of Manchester United does not plan to quit his job.

Betin managing director Leandro Giovando said: “Following our most recent announcement of 24-year-old Evalyne Karaba’s win, we have seen an increase in participation in our Jackpot category and are pleased to have a third winner within such a short period.”

Mr Giovando said they strive to provide a platform for entertainment that is both competitive and fair for the consumer as it also benefits the Kenyan economy through taxation and regulation, over and above working with local companies to encourage entrepreneurship.

Betin currently has over 40 retail outlets in the country and is looking to expand with the aim of opening a further 500 outlets across the country in 2018.
