Centum Investments opens search for new finance chief
Sunday November 18 2018Centum Investments #ticker:ICDC has started the hunt for a new group chief financial officer (CFO) after it promoted the current holder to lead the group’s real estate arm.
The country’s largest listed investment firm said on Friday group CFO Samuel Kariuki has been appointed managing director for real estate.
“Samuel is now the MD for real estate. He’s going to step down from the (CFO) role once we recruit the right person,” Centum group chief executive James Mworia said in an interview.
“We have consolidated our business so that we have one global head for real estate business.” Mr Kariuki, who joined Centum as CFO in February 2016 from audit and consultancy PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), has now been charged with growing returns from the firm’s multi-billion real estate ventures in Kenya and Uganda.
“This (CFO) is an executive director role that’s directly responsible for group financial operations and financial reporting, corporate finance management and group’s tax,” Centum said in advertisement giving candidates up to November 29 to apply.
“The role reports directly to the group chief executive officer and works closely with managing directors of the group’s subsidiaries. The incumbent will also work with the board of directors...”
