Centum taps KenInvest MD Moses Ikiara as director

Centum #ticker:ICDC has picked Kenya Investment Authority managing director Moses Ikiara as an independent non-executive director of the listed company.

The 52-year-old Ikiara brings to the board his wealth of management experience and business knowledge to the investment company, which is listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.

“The board of directors of Centum Investment is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Moses Ikiara as an independent non-executive director of the company.

Dr Ikiara was appointed as director of the company to fill in the casual vacancy on the board at a meeting of the board of directors held on Friday 24,” said Centum chief executive James Mworia.

Prior to the appointment, Dr Ikiara worked as the executive director at the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis, having started as a policy analyst at the same institute.

He is a former lecturer and research fellow at Moi University’s School of Environmental Studies.

Dr Ikiara holds a PhD in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the University of Amsterdam as well as a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture and a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Nairobi.

The company reported a 21 per cent drop in profit after tax in the six months to September due to poor performance in its subsidiary, Sidian Bank.
