Chinese tech giant Huawei is targeting Kenyan lovers of high-end smartphones with the launch of its flagship gadgets retailing at between Sh74,999 and Sh99,999.

The firm hopes to woo local niche customers with its Huawei Mate 20 and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro phones.

The devices have wide perspective cameras, wireless reverse charging, which allows the phone to act as a power bank for other electronics, as well as more powerful processors than previous gadgets.

They also have biometric features that enable users to unlock their phones using their faces and fingerprints.

“Consumer expectations are rising and in the race to bring the best Android smartphone to market, Huawei is leading the rapid development of technologies that help improve device performance to satisfy those needs,” said Huawei Head of Eastern Africa Mobile Steven Li on Tuesday.
