Video on demand service Iflix has entered a two-year distribution agreement with toy maker Lego Systems to show popular series by the latter.

Viewers in Kenya as well as other African and Middle East markets will have access to 122 episodes across 10 titles by Lego Kids.

“Lego is one of the world’s most recognised and beloved brands, and we are excited to bring Lego’s premium titles to our members both young and young-at-heart on a dedicated Lego-branded channel for all to enjoy,” said iflix Head of Content Africa and the Middle East, Evert van der Veer.

In December, Iflix signed a content licensing agreement with NBC universal to offer additional content.

The subscription video-on-demand (SVoD) provider raised funding in excess of $220 million (Sh22.85 billion), which was invested in its expansion locally.

Video-on-demand services have been growing in Kenya. Other companies that have a local presence include South Africa’s Showmax, Nigeria’s iROKOtv and Amazon Prime Video.
