Kenyan hotels and lodges bag global awards

Several Kenyan hotels, lodges and camps have scooped global awards in a ceremony held at Kulm Hotel St Moritz in Switzerland.

Winners were presented with trophies during the 11th annual World Luxury Hotel Awards on December 2.

Sarova Mara Game Camp, located in the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve, bagged two awards in the global and continent categories.

The Camp was voted the world’s luxury tented safari camp, as well as the continent’s luxury adventure destination. The Sarova Stanley scooped the luxury heritage hotel award in the continent category, while Sarova Hotels, Resorts and Game Lodges bagged the luxury brand award.

Sun Africa Hotels was voted Africa’s luxury management group while Sovereign Suites, Nairobi, bagged the luxury all-suite hotel award on the continent. Mara Bushtops Camp won the luxury tented safari camp award while Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge won the luxury wilderness lodge award.

In the South Coast, Kinondo Kwetu was voted Africa’s luxury beach lodge, Elewana AfroChic Diani Beach as the continent’s luxury beach villa while Lantana Galu Beach bagged the luxury beach retreat award.

In the country category, Dusit D2, Nairobi, was voted Kenya’s luxury business hotel, while Elewana AfroChic Diani Beach won the country’s luxury boutique hotel and luxury honeymoon awards.

Kinondo Kwetu won the country’s luxury holistic retreat award and the luxury wedding destination award.

Kiboko Luxury Camp in Naivasha won the country’s luxury safari retreat award, Mara Bushtops Camp bagged the country’s luxury bush lodge award while Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge was named Kenya’s luxury lodge.

Sankara Nairobi was voted the country’s luxury hotel, Lake Naivasha Country Club won the luxury historical hotel category, while Sovereign Suites, Nairobi, bagged the country’s luxury design hotel award.
