Mumias Sugar picks two board directors at AGM

Two board directors have joined Mumias Sugar Company #ticker:MSC to fill the positions that had been vacant since September, the company has said.

Company secretary Henry Omukamani said Stanley Amwayi Were and John Mwangi Maina would be taking over the two positions, which fell vacant following the resignation of former board members James Mathenge and James Opindi.

“The election to fill two vacancies on the board of directors of Mumias Sugar Company Limited was held on Friday, December 22, during the 46th Annual General Meeting of the company, which took place at the Booker Academy Multipurpose Hall.

“In accordance with the articles of association of the company, applications were received from eight candidates who offered themselves to fill the vacancies on the board through election by shareholders.

“Consequently, the first two individuals, Mr Stanley Amwayi Were and Mr John Mwangi Maina have been elected to join the board of Mumias Sugar Company by shareholders as directors,” he said in a public notice.
