Retail chain Naivas has expanded its network with a new branch along Thika Road, stepping up competition for rival supermarkets in the area.
This is Naivas’ 47th store coming after the Langata outlet opened at the beginning of the month.
“Thika road is quite busy and Spur Mall is in a high growth area. The mall has been built to high quality specifications and the store size is optimal,” said Willy Kimani, Naivas Supermarket chief operating officer.
Naivas also relocated its Kitengela branch to new premises within the town to ease customers’ access.
“We moved to the Kitengela Mall because it is on the right side of the road, has more parking, better service, and is more modern,” said Mr Kimani.
The retailer has been on an aggressive growth plan with two new branches set to open in Mombasa before end of the year. Naivas will take over the Likoni premises previously occupied by Nakumatt and the new mall at Mwembe Tayari.
The retailer has been setting up shop at malls with sufficient parking and also giving a more spacious in-store experience as compared to its older branches.
