Nokia launches 3 new phones

Finnish start-up HMD Global on Tuesday unveiled three Nokia phones in Kenya as the firm diversifies its product base to reach more customers.

HMD unveiled Nokia 7 Plus, new (2018) Nokia 6 and Nokia 1, models that will retail at Sh46,000, Sh29,000 and Sh9,500, respectively.

The firm is banking on the battery life of Nokia 7 Plus, said to last for 48 hours while on use, the phone’s 4GB RAM and six inch high definition screen to grow sales in the competitive smartphone market.

The 2018 Nokia 6 is billed to be 60 per cent faster than its predecessor and comes with an enhanced camera owing to the firm’s partnership with Carl Zeiss Optics.

The Nokia 1 is an entry level phone that runs on Android Oreo (Go edition) which supports phone with a RAM below 1GB. Nokia sells its phone in Kenya through Reddington Kenya, its main distributor in the country.
