Safaricom #ticker:SCOM has launched an 11-week promotion that will award over five million of its subscribers across the country with prizes worth over Sh300 million.

The promotion dubbed Shinda Mamili na Tunukiwa targets random winners and will run on a regional level with daily, weekly and grand draw prizes.

The prizes include eight grand draw winners of Sh3 million per region, 80 winners of Sh500,000 weekly per region, 400 motorcycles, 1,200 school fees vouchers each worth Sh25,000, and 2,000 neon smartphones.

The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) listed firm, which has over 29.5 million subscribers, will also be awarding its customers cash prizes and airtime based on validity of the offers they purchase.

The promotion is open to both post pay and prepay customers and will run until March 27, 2018.

“We truly believe in the power of coming together to benefit Kenya, which is why we are pleased to announce the Shinda Mamili na Tunukiwa promotion to reward all Kenyans. This initiative aligns with our continued vision to transform lives of Kenyans,” said Safaricom’s consumer business unit director Sylvia Mulinge on Friday.

To participate in the promotion, a customer is required to secure Tunukiwa offers by dialling *444#, they will then be awarded entry points ranging from 10 points for daily bundles up to 500 points for monthly bundles each time they purchase an offer.

The firm’s mobile money transfer platform - M-Pesa, has over 27.8 million customers and over 148,000 M-Pesa agent outlets countrywide.

On Friday, 10 briefcases were hidden across 10 towns – Nairobi, Eldoret, Nakuru, Machakos, Kakamega, Kisumu, Mombasa, Garissa, Meru and Nyeri where a lucky individual who spotted the briefcase won Sh100,000.
