Kilimapesa Gold Mine in Narok, owned by UK’s Goldplat, has reported a 133 per cent increase in output in the three months to September 2017.
The company on Tuesday announced in its quarterly update that it produced 1,449 ounces of gold and gold equivalents, despite the uncertainty caused by the extended electioneering period.
It said it has experienced production disruptions attributable to the standoff in the country over the fresh presidential election that continues to impact on the reliability of deliveries to its mines.
“National elections caused disruptions during the quarter with employees having to take time off to vote,’ the statement said.
The output represents a more than doubling of production from the 623 gold equivalent ounces produced during the same period in 2016.
