As the boss drove a luxury car every day, it was the duty of the guard at the gate to greet him and open the gates. The boss never responded back to his greetings.
One day as the guard was searching for food in the garbage bag, the boss just entered the gate of the villa. But, as usual he never even looked at the guard, it was like as if he never saw anything!
The very next day the guard saw a paper bag at the same place. It was clean and fresh food. The guard thought of who could have left the food there, but since he did not find anyone claiming it, he just took the bag with him. Starting then, every day he found this paper bag at the same place with fresh vegetables and groceries. The guard was eating and sharing this food with his wife and kids. He was wondering who this fool could be to forget his paper bag full of fresh food every day.
One day when the guard arrived for his duty, he was told that the boss had died. There were too many guests coming to the villa that day and he didn't get any food that day. He thought that one of the guests must have taken it. But the same thing happened until a month later too.
It went on like this for a few weeks and he found it difficult to provide food for his family, so he decided to ask the lady of the house for a raise in salary. He told her the entire story of the bag of groceries, and how it helped him manage his family so far, but since he no longer got the groceries, he was finding it difficult to manage situation at home.
The lady started to cry and told him that he was the seventh guy who had told her about the same act. Her husband has been providing groceries and vegetables to many of his staff and others he knew of.
From that day onwards, the guard started to receive the bag full of food again, but this time it was the son of the boss who was bringing it to the guard’s house and giving it by hand. But whenever he thanked him, the man never replied, just like his dad!
One day, the guard said to him “thank you” in a very loud voice and he replied back, and told him not to be offended when he doesn't reply, because he has a hearing problem, just like his dad!”
