Persistence and energy key to your success journey

A young business man was on a journey to an artisan market to find some unique pieces of art. All his life he was looking for some magnificent piece, which somehow always seems to elude him.

He made his way through the busy artisan street, deeply looking for something that would catch his attention, but everything seemed too common. He was dejected at not finding anything worthwhile in his trip all the way from his town to the artisan market.

As he started walking disappointedly, he heard some very strange yet unique tapping sound from the other side of an old wooden fence that seemingly captured his attention.

He made his way towards the place where he found a young woman seated in an open courtyard surrounded by various stone sculptures of wild animals.

The stone creations were almost complete. He saw the lady coming towards the sculptures, pulling out a little hammer out of her apron pocket, then walking towards a large stone that was perched on a work pedestal.

She examined the stone carefully for a few minutes and then tapped it with the hammer with a little force, then took a few more minutes and tapped it once again.

She continued looking at the stone for a few more minutes. The young businessman smiled and decided to walk back as he felt the young woman would take forever to make anything meaningful out of the stone.

As he walked back, he heard something crumble when the young woman made one more knock at the stone. He turned back and was astonished to see what was in front of him. Dozens of small pieces of stone broke away, with that one blow.

She had not only uncovered a beautiful white marble-like material but had shaped it to resemble the graceful neck of a great swan. He was stunned. What magic was this?

He walked upto her and asked her how she managed to create this wonder in one blow. She smiled and told him, “Before you began watching me I had delivered hundreds of similar small blows to the exact same spot on that stone. You saw the result of many days of careful work and consideration.”

A river cuts through the rock not because of its power, but because of its persistence. Patience, persistence and perspiration is an unbeatable combination for success. Here are some tips to develop persistence:
