Fast moving consumer goods giant RB has launched a new Dettol soap in Kenya amid growing competition.

RB, formerly Reckitt and Benckiser, said the new variant is designed to protect the skin against germs, thus keeping it healthy.

RB County Manager East Africa, Sachin Varma, said the soap comes with added moisturising ingredients that help reduce the appearance of blemishes caused by oil, dirt, and germs leaving the skin looking revitalised and healthy.

“At RB we pride ourselves in having a strong pipeline of constant innovations based on consumer insights. Our continued efforts to be close to the consumer and innovate with passion is the reason we are launching yet another variant barely a year after we unveiled Dettol Even Tone in East Africa,” said Mr Varma.

Dettol remains one of the most trusted brands from the portfolio of Reckitt Benckiser and has been in the market for more than 100 years.

The impressive growth in soaps usage has largely been influenced by various social, economic and demographic factors including increased income levels among consumers, personal and social hygiene consciousness and market accessibility.

The growth of the retail sector has also raised brands awareness, especially in urban areas where modern retail outlets have improved the shopping experience.
