Central Bank of Kenya(CBK) has approved appointment of former Nairobi Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe as Equity Holdings Group Chief Commercial Officer.
CBK also said former Marketing Director of Heineken in Rwanda, Mr Julius Kayoboke is at liberty to take up his position as the regional lender’s Group Director in-charge of Customer Experience and Product Management.
Equity Group Chief Executive James Mwangi welcomed CBK’s decision saying the two executives were highly experienced professionals with vast knowledge on the East African market dynamics.
“Being insiders in the private sector, they will drive acquisition, growth and retention of clients in corporate sector and high net worth individuals because they understand distribution logistics and the Small and medium enterprise value chain’s needs and aspirations,” said Dr Mwangi.
Prior to joining politics, Mr Igathe worked as the Regional Chief Executive of Vivo Energy where he cut his mark on developing productive partnerships with external stakeholders and customers.
Mr Kayoboke, who worked for Heineken Rwanda since 2001 also enjoyed a stint at various workstations in several European and African countries.
