Telkom has launched a new product in the market, 4G Bomba that targets young internet users keen on faster and reliable internet connectivity.

Speaking in Nairobi, Telkom Chief Executive Aldo Mareuse said users of 4G Bomba will benefit from faster speeds and a reliable internet connection following their investment in 300 fourth-generation Long Term Evolution (LTE) sites across Nairobi.

“Subscribers will be able to live-stream, execute faster downloads and uploads, share video and audio content which are every part of the data-savvy millennials segment of our mobile market,” says Mr Mareuse.

The 300 sites mainly cover the Central Business District stretching to Nairobi environs in Ruai, Utawala, Kiserian, Rongai, Kiambu, Thika and Kitengela.

Mr Mareuse said the investment on LTE sites was part of Telkom’s long-term modernisation programme that began two years ago, focusing on expansion and enhancement of its network.

“The additional sites will ensure the reliable delivery of high-quality Internet throughout Nairobi on a stronger network and therefore increased Internet availability, transmission and reduced network downtime,” he said.

Telkom’s 4G Network is now available in more than 30 major towns and urban areas in Kenya, enhancing the quality of internet service across the country.
