Residents of Alego K’Ogelo in Siaya County are the latest beneficiaries of high-speed wireless Internet following installation of a 24-metre communications tower at the recently unveiled Sauti Kuu Foundation (SKF) by Liquid Telecom Kenya.

The new tower means the firm can provide locals with high-speed Internet connections across the county from the main data superhighway that traverses Siaya and provides 800Gbps of data capacity between Kenya and Uganda.

The tower will also connect the SKF sports, recourse and vocational training centre in Alego village recently inaugurated by former US President Barack Obama. Liquid Telecom is upgrading the existing Sh175m fibre optic highway it installed in Siaya in 2014 to deliver up to 100Mbps to local residents.
