Ujuzy brings together service providers in the construction industry.
A new app, Ujuzy that brings together service providers in the construction industry has been launched in Nairobi.
The platform enables homeowners to order for the services of plumbers, painters, electrician, and carpenters from among those who have listed their services with the platform through a simple tap on their smartphones.
“We are taking away the burden of searching for experienced and reliable professional service providers in a hassle-free model to deliver critical services to companies and homes,” said Ujuzy managing director Kimani Gitau in a statement on Wednesday.
To register or request a service, users are required to download the Ujuzy App in the Google App Store.
Ujuzy is also available in the Apple App store.
Alternatively, users may access Ujuzy from their desktops at ujuzy.com
On Ujuzy, service providers can offer their services, as individual experts or as a company.
The system uses a peer-rating system that enables clients to give feedback on services rendered and therefore rank service providers based on the quality of work.
The rating system controls the level of exposure for providers and their services on the Ujuzy website and mobile App.
“Positive ratings will mean that you are ranked higher and able to get more business. This is how we are building this rich pool of reliable professionals,” said Mr Gitau.
Ujuzy hopes to ride on the rising number of smartphone users in Kenya to build a strong brand in a bid to stay ahead of competitors such as iBuild.
Unlike Ujuzy, iBuild, which is the brainchild of the Kenya-based International Corporation, not only brings together contractors and different categories of construction workers, it also helps in monitoring the project from start to finish.
Through iBuild one is able to search and find qualified contractors by reviewing and selecting contractors’ bids, track and manage their home construction and repair projects.
Home owners can also assess their corresponding project budgets, project payments and timelines, all from the comfort of their mobile phone devices.
