The team in charge of supervising and coordinating implementation of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four Agenda projects Tuesday said it will provide weekly reports to the Head of State.

The committee of Cabinet Secretaries said it had identified challenges constraining effective execution of Mr Kenyatta’s four-pillar plan focusing on food security, affordable housing, manufacturing and better healthcare.

“The committee identified challenges constraining effective execution and delivery and will provide weekly reports to the President with recommendations on how to address them,” said Interior PS Karanja Kibicho in a statement.

The National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee, which was unveiled two weeks ago by Mr Kenyatta, held its first meeting yesterday. Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and his Treasury counterpart Henry Rotich lead the team.

The committee is expected to act based on monthly reports prepared by another technical committee made up of principal secretaries in charge of dockets relating to Mr Kenyatta’s Big Four Agenda projects.

Aside from all Cabinet Secretaries, the team’s membership includes Attorney-General Paul Kihara and Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua.
